Bedroom safety

Alarms, anchors and exits.

4 min read

A few simple checks make bedrooms safer for everyone, especially children.

Check

  • A working smoke alarm inside each bedroom and outside sleeping areas
  • A carbon monoxide alarm on each level and near sleeping areas
  • Anchor dressers, bookcases and TVs to the wall
  • Keep window cords out of children's reach
  • Keep a clear path to the door and a window you can open

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends anchoring furniture and TVs to prevent tip-overs. The Good Nesting isn't paid by any mattress or bedding brand.
